Was looking at some cars for sale and came across a few GT4 WRC Edition ST205 Celicas.

What is the advantage of the WRC version?

I'm guessing it's like the Celica RC/Carlos Sainz ST185 Neutral

I think its like the RC and CS of the 5g, Toyota had to build 5000 road going rally cars so i think the WRC version is that.

Does anyone know the differences of performance?

Most probably just a more aggresive ECU tune Neutral

No difference in performance at all!

The WRC edition just was the homologation model to enter the WRC as said above. It is not correct that there are 5000 produced. Only 2500 WRC's were produced.
Chassisnumber for these must be between ST205-0000001 en ST205-0005000 because the WRC's were build at the same time that the first 2500 "normal" st205 were produced. So if you ever buy a st205 with a chassisnumber as said above, you have a 50% chance that you have a WRC.

Only things that are different compared to a normal st205 are:
- WRC came with standard raised rear wing.
The raiser blocks give the car much more downforce at speeds fom 100-120 km/h
It is also said that these blocks, because of the more downforce they generate, cuts off 20 km/h from the topspeed (260 km/h)
.
- WRC came with standard hood spoiler.
Toyota engineers found out that at high speed (250 km/h +), the bonnet starts to vibrate a lot. That's why they added this little spoiler. Strange thing is, this spoiler sits on every JDM WRC, but not on the normal st205. In Europe however, all models (at200, st202, st205) could be delivered with this spoiler.

- Anti-lag fitted on the engine. (NOT working)

Because of this, the factory heatshield is a little different too:

- Watersprayers fitted in front bumper crash bar to spray intercooler. (NOT working)

- Waterinjection. (NOT working)
There is a "coldstart injector" connected to the intake manifold (not present on standard st205) which isn't connected with the fuelsystem, but with a separate tank inside the washer system. Also the WRC ecu has a w/i pin, were the normal st205 haven't

If you can afford to buy a new turbocharger every 300-400 km, then that's the first thing you should do Shocked silent
Better thing to start with, is to get the intercooler watersprayers working Wink
