E56 Gearbox

Hi

is it possible to put the non LSD gearbox out of a celica GT in instead of the E56 gearbox and if so what is required to do this

I doubt it will fit. The box itself is a bolt on job, but the axles from a superstrut are different. Superstrut has 21 splines, normal has 20 if I'm not mistaking

I have the gearbox fitted into the car.been told the drive shafts from a UK celica will fit i just have to change the CV joints / Hubs on the end. and the mount on the right of the car will ned modfying a little. so shouldnt take much work hopefully

nice would like to see the progress of this.

Not 100% clued up on the ST202 GT (UK/Europe) and ST202 SS-II/III series (Japan) differences. But I have a real good understanding of the Japanese ST202 versions.

Another option for a LSD gearbox would be the S54-06D found in the SS-III 95-99, not viscous like the E56, but helical, and different gear ratios/final drive
